 History of paragliding
The origin of the glider begins in the sport of skydiving.
In 1961 the French engineer Pierre Lemoigne was successful in cutting some slots in the Parasailing creating a parachute.
In 1964, the American Domina Jalbert invented the rectangular parachute, after designing a double coverage sectioned into cells.
In 1970, three friends Jean Claude Bétemps, Andre Bohn an Gérard Bosson of the town of Haute Savoie in France, thought they could inflate the parachute running downhill on a mountain in the Alps.
After some modifications and several attempts were able to fly 100 Mentre away down.
Since then modify its prototype, could fly
1000 meters from takeoff to landing on a valley, and thus was born paragliding.
